Tropical Smoothie
"Tropical Fruit Smoothie Recipe Serves 1-2, adjust according to preference Whether for breakfast, a snack or just beating the summer heat, this smoothie is sweet, refreshing, and healthy. A touch of ginger adds a bit of spice and loads of anti-inflammatory goodness. Ingredients: x1 cup frozen bananas (cut into cubes) x 1/2 cup frozen guyabano (cut into cubes) x 1/2 cup frozen pineapple x 1 cup orange juice (preferably freshly squeezed) x 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated) x 1 tbsp honey or sweetener of choice x4 ice cubes Preparation: 1. Put all ingredients together in a blender. 2. Blend for 1-2 minutes in 20 seconds intervals. 3. Serve immediately. Green Tip/s: Do you love bananas, but don't know what to do with the peels? Here are some zero-waste hacks you can do instead of throwing them out. Banana peels contain lots of nutrients that help nourish almost any kind of plant you may have in your garden or at home. These nutrients include potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, and calcium. This is a chemical-free fertilizer that comes at no cost with your bananas. Here's how! 1. Chop up banana peels into smaller pieces. 2. Toss them into a cup or bowl of water and mix. 3. Let them soak for at least 3 hours, and then pour the water into your plants. 4. Toss the soaked peels on your compost/soil. "
